Universal Pancake Load Cells
A tensile and compressive force transducer with a central threaded loading hub transfers axial tension and compression through radial shear webs into the outer bolted rim. Specify the complete fixture envelope before selecting a capacity.
Confirm the bolt circle and center thread.
1–500 kN family request envelope · Nickel-plated alloy steel or 17-4PH stainless steel, by configuration. UTM frames · servo cylinders · structural testing.
| Model family | Capacity request · kN / lbf | Outer Diameter (OD) · mm / in | Height (H) · cell / with base | Center Thread · Metric / UNF | Outer Bolt Circle · BCD & Hole Count | Net Weight · kg / lbs |

| MT-PLC-12 | 1–500 kN 225–112,404 lbf | Project drawing required | Cell / base / button stack reviewed separately | Metric / UNF / UN thread review | BCD, count, bore, counterbore and pilot on released drawing | Sensor and full assembly mass confirmed before freight |
For an installed replacement, supply the original drawing or measured envelope. Original manufacturer reference dimensions are labeled separately; they are not approved MT-PLC dimensions.

Define the load envelope behind the number.
- Check fixture stiffness and thread engagement in both directions.
- Specify rated force, peak force, force reversals and the test-machine uncertainty requirement.
- Request tension/compression calibration points, bridge sensitivity, polarity and connector pinout.

Questions to settle before the fixture is frozen.
What are the thread engagement and reversing-load limits?
Check fixture stiffness and thread engagement in both directions.
Does the calibration cover both tension and compression?
Specify rated force, peak force, force reversals and the test-machine uncertainty requirement.
Which mating base reproduces the installed mounting boundary?
Request tension/compression calibration points, bridge sensitivity, polarity and connector pinout.
Packed mass and freight are itemized.
Compact models (1–25 kN): DHL Express parcel quotation with destination-specific transit estimates. Intermediate models (over 25 to under 50 kN): shipping assessed by packed mass. Heavy-capacity models (50–2,000 kN), including base assemblies: itemized DHL/FedEx heavy air freight on the formal Proforma Invoice. Availability, dispatch, customs and final freight are confirmed for the actual assembly and destination.
Build a bidirectional mechanical and electrical brief.
| Decision | Review input / acceptance |
|---|---|
| Force directions | Request separate tension and compression points and the reversal/zero-return limits. |
| Metric / imperial interface | Send M or UNF/UN size, pitch, tolerance, engagement and drawing revision. |
| Signal chain | Specify mV/V output, excitation, polarity, amplifier input and measurement bandwidth. |
The engineering brief defines a request. The released datasheet and STEP file are supplied for the reviewed part and revision.

The table below describes the original passive HBK U10M without a foot adapter. It is a reference for an installed-part review; MT-PLC fit remains unapproved until the complete interfaces and drawings are compared.

The foot adapter changes the assembly. Hole count, counterbores, thread engagement, overall height, output and connector must also be checked. A rounded family/frame label does not establish interchangeability.
Inspect the original HBK dimension drawing ↗Approve the calibration boundary with the fixture.
Specify whether the calibration covers the sensor alone or the sensor, mounting base, button, cable and amplifier as a system. Request traceability and uncertainty for the actual force range and direction.
Review calibration, standards and record requirements ↗For a replacement, retain the full original model, both drawing revisions and the receiving instrument configuration. Machine verification is a separate acceptance step.
Request a calibration plan ↗Bring the load path.
We’ll review the fit.
Send your capacity, center thread and mounting envelope. Include the full original part number when replacing an installed sensor.
CAD and test reports are supplied for the agreed configuration. No generic drawing is presented as an approved production part.
